On Monday’s Colbert Report the tongue-in-cheek political commentator made the claim that Raj Patel is the Messiah because… he appeared on his show recently.
Actually, there’s more to the story than that. But not much. It seems that some obscure religious leaders are proclaiming Patel as the next Messiah because “he recently appeared on an American TV show” and pontificated about the wrath we will incur if we don’t pay for what we consume.
References to the afflictions Patel suffers from (brain injury, a stuttering problem) all point to classic hints left in the Bible that predict the unusual traits the coming Messiah will be suffering from.
